Premier Announces New Press Secretary

Sasha Irving is the new press secretary, Premier Rodney MacDonald announced today, March 9.

Ms. Irving has been a consultant at MT&L Public Relations in Halifax since fall 2003, working extensively on corporate, media and community relations.

Before joining MT&L, she served as press secretary to former premier John Hamm during the 2003 provincial election.

"Ms. Irving has a proven track record with media and government relations," said Premier MacDonald. "She has a great reputation as someone who can handle real challenges effectively."

"I'm looking forward to working with her, as our government moves forward with our plans for a more prosperous, optimistic future for Nova Scotia families."

Ms. Irving has also worked as event manager for the Halifax Chamber of Commerce and in the oil and gas industry as director of business operations for the Offshore Onshore Technologies Association of Nova Scotia(OTANS).

Ms. Irving has a marketing degree from Mount Allison University.
