Safer Streets and Communities Task Force Meeting

The Minister's Task Force on Safer Streets and Communities wants Nova Scotians to have their say on preventing and addressing crime.

A public meeting is being held in Halifax on Thursday, March 22 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Halifax North Memorial Library, 2285 Gottingen St.

The task force was launched in December and is made up of a diverse group of 25 volunteers. It is gathering information on community programs, government services, legislation and policing initiatives that are making a positive difference in communities.

The task force will submit a report to the minister of justice in May. The information will be used to help create a provincial crime prevention strategy.
