Enjoy a Nova Scotia Agri-tourism Experience

A unique way to enjoy the fall harvest, and agriculture sites around the province, is now available. The Pick of the Crop is a new brochure featuring 14 agri-tourism destinations.

"This brochure offers Nova Scotians and visitors the opportunity to enjoy a variety of agriculture-related experiences and local products," said Brooke Taylor, Minister of Agriculture. "Agriculture plays an important role in our way of life and contributes significantly to our provincial economy."

Participating businesses include Apple Berry Farm Market, Wiles Lake Farm Market and Bakery, Ross Farm Museum, Noggins Corner Farm, Blueberry Acres U-Pick and Between the Bushes Restaurant, Fox Hill Cheese House, Tangled Garden Herbs, Domaine de Grande Pré, The Udder House Guest House B&B, Sugar Moon Farm, Jost Vineyards, Lismore Sheep Farm Wool Shop, Stonehame Lodge and Chalets, and Valley Wine Tours.

Taste of Nova Scotia, the Winery Association of Nova Scotia, Farmers' Markets of Nova Scotia are participating in the brochure as partners.

"This is a great opportunity to enjoy fresh, local products, see a farm in operation or to relax in a rural setting," said Mr. Taylor. "These experiences can be enjoyed year round."

The brochure is available on the internet at www.gov.ns.ca/agri/marketing/contact/landsea/, visitor information centres, participating agri-tourism operators, or at farmers' markets.
