Members of the arts and culture community will have a chance to hear CBC radio host and best-selling author Bill Richardson talk about the importance of artistic connections at the Creative Nova Scotia Conference in Membertou, Cape Breton.
Nova Scotia Arts and Culture Partnership Council Chair Paul Gallant, said today, Sept. 28, that Mr. Richardson is sure to add a unique perspective to the day's discussions.
"The keynote presentation is designed to inspire the continued growth and development of the arts and culture sector through the sharing of knowledge and resources," said Mr. Gallant. "We expect that Mr. Richardson will have an interesting take on the matter as an accomplished writer and humourist."
The charming, hilarious and entertaining Mr. Richardson is well known and loved by CBC Radio audiences for his work as a host on both Radio One and Radio Two. In addition to his popularity as a broadcaster, he is a well-known columnist and writer. He received the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour for one of his novels in 1994.
Mr. Richardson's keynote presentation will take place during lunch at the second annual Creative Nova Scotia Awards Gala and Conference at the Membertou Convention Centre on Oct. 18. The event, being hosted by the Nova Scotia Arts and Culture Partnership Council, will focus on ways to strengthen Nova Scotia's culture sector from the roles of local and provincial organizations in cultural development to reaching global markets.

Richardson was announced as the keynote speaker for this
year's conference today (September 28th) by Nova Scotia Arts and
Culture Partnership Council Chair Paul Gallant.
Gallant says Richardson's speech will address the
conference's theme of artistic connections and how sharing
knowledge and resources within the arts and culture community can
promote a vibrant community, economy and quality of life.
