Applications Wanted for Immigration Advisory Council

Immigration (Jan. 2005 - Feb. 2021)

The province is accepting applications from people to serve on an immigration advisory council to advise government on the needs of business and immigrants as they relate to immigration matters.

"The council will ensure we hear from people who understand and appreciate the needs of business and immigrants in Nova Scotia," said Len Goucher, Minister of Immigration. "Their insight will help us strengthen our policies and programs and, ultimately, our ability to reach our immigration goals."

Members will be chosen on their ability to provide well-informed, balanced opinions on issues, are well respected in their field, are prepared to donate their time and set aside their own interests to participate.

The creation of the council is a direct response to feedback government received during consultations for the province's Immigration Strategy.
