Government Surplus Auction on Saturday

Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (Oct. 2007 - Feb. 2021)

Anyone who's a jack of all trades will find plenty to choose from on Saturday, Aug. 23, at the provincial government surplus auction -- including, of course, a jack or two.

The auction includes electric pallet jacks, minivans, light trucks and 4x4s, a Champion road grader, two boats and a boat trailer. There will be snow blowers, lawn mowers, and equipment for machine shops, kitchens and golf course maintenance.

Professional-grade equipment such as electric arc welders, sound boards, and hydraulic testing equipment will also be included in the auction.

There will be a variety of office equipment and electronics such as file cabinets, office chairs, sound-recording equipment, cellphones, and televisions.

A link to a partial list of auction items and photos is posted on the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal website at www.gov.ns.ca/tran/govservices/govauction.asp .

The auction will be held at the department's warehouse at 10 Acadia St., Dartmouth, at 10 a.m. Items can be viewed beginning at 8 a.m.

The auction will be conducted by A&A Auctioneering. Payment must be made by cash or auctioneer-approved cheque. Credit and debit cards will not be accepted.

A barbecue will be held at the auction with proceeds going to the United Way.

Money earned in the auction is used to help pay down the provincial debt.
