Comprehensive Responsible Gambling Site Launched

Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation (to Dec. 2012)

People who choose to gamble now have more tools to empower them to make informed decisions thanks to a new comprehensive, player-focused responsible gambling website launched today, Oct. 6, by the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation.

"Gambling is a form of entertainment and we want to help players keep it that way," said Marie Mullally, president and CEO of the gaming corporation. "If you choose to gamble, this website will provide you with important information to make informed decisions and help prevent problems before they start. Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation's commitment to the people of Nova Scotia is to ensure our province has the most progressive and responsible gaming industry and the most informed players in the world."

One of the first of its kind, the site was developed in conjunction with leading experts in the field of responsible gambling. It provides information to help players make decisions about their play, including setting time limits, budgeting and knowing the odds. One of the key features is the My Best Bet Log where players can track gambling activity and spending habits to better manage their play.

The site is part of a wider commitment of the corporation to being a socially responsible manager of the gaming industry in Nova Scotia. This year, the gaming corporation spent $7.7 million on prevention, education and treatment, directly reaching more than 25,000 Nova Scotians.
