Queen's Counsel Appointments Announced

Justice Minister and Attorney General Cecil Clarke announced today, Dec. 22, the 14 recipients of the prestigious Queen's Counsel designation.

"This important designation recognizes the accomplishments and leadership of these exemplary professionals," said Mr. Clarke "I am pleased to acknowledge their achievements in the legal profession and tremendous personal contributions to their communities."

The appointees are:

  • Craig Botterill, Halifax
  • Elizabeth Van Den Eynden New Glasgow
  • Maurice Chiasson, Halifax
  • John Graham, Halifax,
  • Joshua Arnold, Halifax
  • Annette Boucher, Halifax
  • James Chipman, Halifax

Recommendations for Queen's Counsel appointments are made to cabinet by an 11-member advisory committee. The criteria includes a minimum of 15 years as a member of the bar of Nova Scotia, demonstrated professional integrity, good character and outstanding contributions to the practice of law.
