Bridgewater Justice Centre Dedicated to Michael Baker

A new justice centre was dedicated to Finance Minister Michael Baker in Bridgewater today, Feb. 13.

As a prominent member of the legal community and as Attorney General and Minister of Justice from 1999-2002 and 2003-2006, Mr. Baker has been instrumental in improving the overall administration of Justice in Nova Scotia.

He was first elected to the Legislative Assembly in March 1998. He was re-elected July 1999, August 2003 and June 2006. Mr. Baker's cabinet duties have included, among other portfolios, Minister of Transportation and Public Works; Minister of Aboriginal Affairs; and Minister of Justice. He has also been chair of the Treasury and Policy Board.
