Sydney Study to Address Traffic Congestion

Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (Oct. 2007 - Feb. 2021)

A study is reviewing options to address traffic congestion and improve safety in a busy area of Sydney.

The province's study is examining Kings Road, between Highway 125 to north of Weidner Drive, and Keltic Drive, between Sydney River Bridge and Kings Road.

"This study will help us assess various options for upgrading Kings Road and Keltic Drive, and make driving in these areas safer and more efficient," said Brooke Taylor, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal.

The $75,000 study, by CBCL Ltd., will run until the end of July. Residents may notice surveyors gathering traffic counts, pictures and videos of the study area.

The final report from the study is expected before the end of the year. Recommendations will be reviewed and public consultations will be held before decisions are made by the province.
