Queen's Counsel Appointments Announced

Justice Minister and Attorney General Ross Landry announced today, Jan. 28, the 14 recipients of the prestigious Queen's Counsel designation.

"I am pleased to recognize the achievements of the new recipients of this important designation," said Mr. Landry. "They have earned the respect of their colleagues and many others who they have encountered during their tremendous personal contributions to their communities and the legal profession."

  • Janice Beaton, Halifax

  • Claire Milton, Lunenburg
  • Michelle Awad, Halifax
  • Cheryl Hodder, Halifax

Recommendations for Q.C. appointments are made to cabinet by an independent advisory committee. Criteria include a minimum of 15 years as a member of the bar of Nova Scotia, demonstrated professional integrity, good character and outstanding contributions to the practice of law.
