Remember to Turn Clocks Ahead

Justice

Nova Scotians are reminded to set their clocks ahead one hour on Sunday, March 14, when daylight saving time comes into effect at 2 a.m., or before going to bed Saturday evening.

Along with watches and clocks, microwave ovens, VCR and DVD players, answering machines, car clocks and automatic timer lights should be changed. It is also a reminder to replace batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Smoke alarms should be tested monthly and replaced every 10 years.

People are advised to check computer calendars to ensure appointments are up to date when the time change takes effect.
