Government Appoints Deputy Minister as New CEO

Marian Tyson, deputy minister of the Justice Department, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of EMO, Emergency Management Minister Ramona Jennex announced today, June 2.

Ms. Tyson replaces Craig MacLaughlan, who served as CEO since 2006, and has retired.

Ms. Tyson will retain her responsibilities at Justice, which she began in 2007. Before that, she was deputy minister of Community Services for five years. A lawyer, Ms. Tyson joined the provincial government in 1975.

"Ms. Tyson's years of experience at senior levels of government and her knowledge of the public safety system across the province make her the ideal candidate to take on this role," said Ms. Jennex.
