Amendments To Summary Offence Ticket Regulations

Police and bylaw enforcement officers can now issue summary offence tickets when people contravene Halifax Regional Municipality waste reduction bylaws.

Amendments to the Summary Offence Ticket Regulations received approval today, June 22.

The changes sought by HRM will provide a more effective enforcement of solid waste collection and disposal bylaws.

By designating violations as a summary offence the officers will be able to enforce the bylaws in the same way tickets are issued for motor vehicle infractions.
