Funding Applications Available for Fire Departments, First Responders

Fire departments and first responders will once again benefit from improved equipment through the Emergency Services Provider Fund.

Applications for the Emergency Services Provider Fund are now available. The $500,000 provincial funding program are now available to helps fire departments and first responders purchase equipment such as jaws of life, pumps and hoses.

"This fund helps ensure that emergency service providers have the proper equipment to perform their duties safely and effectively," said Ramona Jennex, Minister of Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations. "It helps make life safer for families in every region."

The Emergency Services Provider Fund provides up to 50 per cent of eligible costs, to a maximum of $20,000 for approved projects.

The deadline for applications is Oct. 15. Application Forms are available online at www.gov.ns.ca/snsmr/muns/espf .
