Responsible Gambling Conference Focuses on Youth, Technology, Gaming Trends

Youth gambling prevention, emerging technologies that are changing the way people gamble and global trends in online gaming are the focus of the sixth annual Responsible Gambling Conference.

The Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation event is being held Monday, Oct. 4 and 5 at The World Trade and Convention Centre in Halifax.

"The conference provides a unique forum where diverse groups come together to learn from one another about issues impacting the gaming industry," said Marie Mullally, president and CEO of NSGC.

Ms. Mullally said the conference speakers will offer new research and information on how social media and other technologies are helping deliver responsible gambling programs, trends among women and older adults, and a continued focus on the important topic of preventing youth gambling.

NSGC's Responsible Gambling Awareness Week is designed to educate and raise awareness about responsible gambling behaviour so Nova Scotians are informed and responsible players. The conference is a highlight and will draw about 250 delegates who will learn from 20 world-class experts on responsible gambling and the gaming industry. Among these are:
