Public to Get Sneak Peak at Laurie Park Redevelopment

The Department of Natural Resources is offering a walking tour of the latest improvements at Laurie Provincial Park, Grand Lake.

Tours are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, to allow people to see campground upgrades. New buildings planned for the park are not yet in place.

Walking tours will be led by department staff as this is an active construction site. Participants should dress for the weather and be prepared to walk on gravel and in rocky and muddy areas.

Participants must pre-register by Thursday, Jan. 6, at 4:30 p.m. because parking is limited. To register, call the parks and recreation division at 902-662-3030.

The $2.5-million, Canada-Nova Scotia Infrastructure Program redevelopment of the park was announced in late October.
