Antlerless Deer Stamps Still Available

The Department of Natural Resources announced today, Sept. 15, that more than 1,100 antlerless deer stamps are still available for Deer Management Zone 103.

Four thousand stamps were made available for Zone 103 during the 2011 Antlerless Deer Draw held on Sept. 3. The zone mostly includes Halifax and Lunenburg counties along with parts of Hants and Queens counties.

The remaining stamps will be available on a first-come, first- served basis starting at 7 a.m., Friday, Sept. 16.

To apply, applicants must:

  • be a Nova Scotia resident
  • be eligible to hold a 2011 deer hunting licence
  • be 16 years of age or older
  • hold a Nova Scotia Wildlife Resources Card at the time of application
  • not already hold a 2011 Antlerless Deer Stamp in any deer management zone
  • not have suspended hunting privileges.

Applications will be accepted by phone at 1-900-565-3337 or the internet at http://www.gov.ns.ca/natr/draws/deerdraw/ for $7.40 plus HST. Calls cannot be made from a cellphone.

Applicants are reminded that antlerless deer stamps are not transferrable or refundable and you can only apply once.
