NEW WORK
DIGBY COUNTY: Digby Neck, Route 217 in Rossway
A section of route 217 in Rossway is closed because a culvert at the bottom of Seawall Hill was damaged by heavy rain Thursday, May 10.
Motorists are being escorted through a one-lane detour that starts about 200 metres past Gulliver's Cove Road. It's 5.4 kilometres long to Robichaud Road. The detour will be necessary for up to one week while a new bridge is built to replace the damaged culvert.
ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Pinkietown Bridge
Pinkietown Bridge in Ohio will be closed for repairs from Monday, May 14, until Friday, May 25.
Detour on Ohio Lake Road.

PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 106
Highway 106, from Exit 2 north to the Pictou Rotary, for about six kilometres, will be reduced to one lane for bridge repairs, installation of rumble strips and repaving from Monday, May 14 until Friday, Aug. 31.
Traffic control people will be on site. The speed limit is reduced in the work zone and expect delays.
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Fridays 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

CONTINUING WORK
ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Lower South River Bridge
Lower South River Bridge will be closed to replace the bridge and approaches. A detour is in place until Aug. 31.
Traffic control is on site. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 125
Exit 7 on Highway 125 will have occasional lane closures until Aug. 31, during construction of a new bridge.
Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 4
Highway 4, Folly Lake to about eight kilometres west of Glenholme, will be reduced to one lane for paving and shouldering until Thursday, May 31.
Traffic control is on site. Work takes place from daylight to dusk.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Belmont Road
Belmont Road, from Trunk 2 north to Onslow Mountain Road, and Belmont Road Underpass will be reduced to one lane for brush cutting, ditching, paving and guardrail work until Saturday, June 30.
Traffic control is on site. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Allan Hill and South Branch Roads
Allan Hill and South Branch roads in the Advocate area have a weight restriction of five tonnes until further notice.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Melford Brook Bridge
The Melford Brook Bridge on Route 344 at Middle Melford is closed. A two-lane detour bridge is in place until a permanent bridge is built.
The speed limit is reduced to 60 km/h and warning signs are in place.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Route 316
Route 316, between Middle Country Harbour and Stormont, will be reduced to one lane for repaving. Construction is expected to be finished Thursday, May 31.
A pilot vehicle and traffic control people are on site.
Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Saturday.

INVERNESS COUNTY: Point Cross Bridge
The Point Cross Bridge on the Cabot Trail, south of Cheticamp, is closed to traffic to replace the bridge.
A four-kilometre detour, using Le Forte Road, Cheticamp Back Road and Redman Road, is available. Drivers should use extra caution in the construction area.
Work is scheduled to be finished by the end of June.

KINGS COUNTY: Bridge Closure
Traffic on the Busby McMahon Bridge on Brooklyn Street, near Aylesford, is reduced to one lane until further notice.
Traffic lights are in place.

KINGS COUNTY: Horton Bridge, Highway 101
Horton Bridge, Highway 101, about one kilometre west of Exit 9 will be reduced to one lane for repairs until Thursday, May 31.

KINGS COUNTY: Trunk 1
Trunk 1, from the Annapolis-Kings county line, easterly to Greenwood Road, will be reduced to one lane to pave and install a curb until Wednesday, Oct. 31.
There will be periodic lane closures. Expect delays. Traffic control people are on site.

PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 104, East of Exit 27A
Traffic on Highway 104 will be detoured east of Exit 27A for about half a kilometre until Saturday, June 30, to complete construction work for the twinning project.
Detour will be 24 hours a day.

PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 104 Twinning Project
Route 245, Trunk 4 and Thorburn Road, near Exit 27, Highway 104, will be periodical reduced to one lane for realignment and paving work for the Highway 104 Twinning Project. Construction is expected to be finished by Saturday, June 30.
Traffic control consist of signs and control people on site.
Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Saturday.

PICTOU COUNTY: Weirs Bridge Closed
Weirs Bridge on Shore Road in the Waterside-Caribou Island area of Pictou County is closed to traffic.
Two paved detour routes are available on R. Grant Road and Shore Road, and a gravel road detour on Otter Road.
Drivers should use extra caution and allow for extra time when travelling in this area.

Welsford Bridge, near the West Branch Road on the Old Pictou Road, will have day closings until Monday, May 14, for repairs.
