Town of Bridgetown Hires New Chief Administrative Officer

The Town of Bridgetown is taking another step to bring stable government to residents with the hiring of a new chief administrative officer. Rachel Turner will start work on Tuesday, Aug. 7.

"I am pleased to see the town moving forward with the hiring of Ms. Turner as CAO," said acting Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations Minister Sterling Belliveau. "The province put in place a team that included a mayor, councillors and CAO that worked together to move the community of Bridgetown forward. I want to thank all of them for taking on this role over the past year."

"I want to welcome Ms. Turner as the town's new CAO and I look forward to working with her as we move toward the municipal election in October, said Mayor Bob Fowler. "Darrell Hiltz will stay on to help make the transition a smooth process. Our priority over the past year has been to provide leadership and stability to get the town back on its feet so people can continue to live, work and raise families in Bridgetown."

Ms. Turner has been employed in municipal government for the past 15 years working for the towns of Berwick and Wolfville in several different positions. She is presently the director of human resources and administration and town clerk with the Town of Wolfville.
