50 Ways to Thrive! This Summer

Health and Wellness

Finding healthy, active ways to enjoy the summer is just a click away.

At thrive.novascotia.ca Nova Scotians will find tips and resources that map out 50 ways to Thrive this summer.

The website is part of government's plan to create a healthier Nova Scotia through healthy eating and physical activity.

"Our goal is to help make healthy choices easier," said Dr. Robert Strang, Nova Scotia's chief public health officer. "We want to provide information Nova Scotians can easily access and highlight the many resources available across the province to help make the summer a healthy one."

"By choosing just one way to thrive this summer, whether walking in a garden, playing a game of tag, or swimming at a beach or lake, we can create a ripple effect of positive change," said Farida Gabbani, the province's senior director responsible for physical activity programs. "We're encouraging everyone to go online, learn more and take the Thrive! pledge."

For the first time, Nova Scotia has a plan that makes health a government priority. Thrive! A plan for a healthier Nova Scotia outlines actions to make it easier for people to be healthier.
