Cheryl Hodder Appointed to NSBI Board of Directors

Nova Scotia Business Inc. (Dec. 2004 - Nov. 2022)

A nationally-recognized lawyer and community volunteer is the newest addition to the Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI) board of directors.

Cheryl Hodder, a partner at McInnes Cooper in Halifax, practices extensively in a number of areas and, according to Best Lawyers International, was named one of the in best lawyers in Canada in the area of corporate governance for 2011, 2012, and 2013. She has represented Crown corporations, universities, colleges, health authorities and small to medium-sized businesses.

"NSBI works to help our economy grow and deliver on our jobsHere plan," said Percy Paris, Minister of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism. "Cheryl Hodder's active leadership in her community, combined with her legal background, will be a valuable addition to NSBI's board of directors."

Ms. Hodder is an avid community volunteer who received the Canadian Bar Association's Community Service Award for her contributions to many organizations and boards. She was the first Atlantic Canadian to be honoured with the Women of Influence Award at the 2010 Deloitte Women of Influence Luncheon Series. She is also a member of the International Women's Forum of Canada.

Ms. Hodder replaces Nancy Tower who served two, four-year terms on NSBI's board of directors.
