Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (Oct. 2007 - Feb. 2021)

NEW WORK


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Coldstream Road

Coldstream Road, about half a kilometre south of Johnson Road to Route 224, will be reduced to one lane for paving from Monday, June 24, until Sunday, Sept. 15.

Traffic control people on site. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Masstown Road

Masstown Road, from the Highway 104 overpass to Debert Road, will be reduced to one lane for paving from Monday, June 24, until Monday Sept. 30.

Traffic control people on site. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.


COLCHESTER/HANTS COUNTIES: Highway 102, Shubenacadie River

From Monday, June 24, through Thursday, June 27, traffic on Highway 102 at the bridges over the Shubenacadie River will be reduced to one lane in each direction to allow for repairs on both bridges.

Drivers are urged to travel with extra caution in the area, and should be prepared for delays or use an alternate route.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Trout Brook Bridge

Trout Brook Bridge on Trout Brook Road is closed for replacement of the deck until Friday, June 28.

Detour route on Hillside Road.


CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Trunk 4, Coxheath Road

Coxheath Road, from Keltic Drive to Highway 125, is reduced to one lane for paving. The ramps on Highway 125, exits 5A and 6 and the Trunk 4 intersection are also reduced to one lane for repairs.

Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is expected to continue until Monday, July 15.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Arch Hayman Bridge

Arch Hayman Bridge, on Matheson Brook Road in Balmoral Mills, is closed for repairs, except to local traffic, until Friday, June 28.

Detour signs are in place.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 104

Highway 104, from Mines Bass River Road Overpass to Masstown Road Overpass, is reduced to one lane for repaving until Wednesday, July 31.

Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Truro, Robie Street Roundabout

Construction is underway on the new Robie Street roundabout in Truro. All work in the travel lane will be completed at night with traffic control people on site. Work will be a mix of day and night work, and is expected to continue until Saturday, Aug. 31.

Drivers are asked to travel through the work zone with extra caution and be alert for construction staff and slow-moving vehicles.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Route 256

Route 256, from Route 311 to one kilometre west of Truro Road, will be reduced to one lane for culvert installation, gravelling and double chip seal work until Thursday, Aug. 1.

Work takes place from dawn to dusk.


DIGBY COUNTY: Route 217

Route 217, between the Middle Cross Road intersection, west to Haight Brook Bridge, is reduced to one lane for paving, shouldering and pipe installation until Friday, June 28.

Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.


GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Melford Brook Bridge

The Melford Brook Bridge, on Route 344 at Middle Melford, is closed. A two-lane detour bridge is in place until a permanent bridge is built. The speed limit is reduced to 60 km/h and warning signs are in place.


GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Trunk 16

Trunk 16, at Halfway Cove for about half a kilometre north, will be reduced to one lane for paving until Monday, Sept. 30.

Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday, and some Saturdays.


HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Forest Hills Extension, Dartmouth

The Forest Hills Extension, between Highway 118 and Main Street in Dartmouth, will be closed to traffic at night to repave, widen, and install centre-line rumble strips.

During weekdays, the road will be closed from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. On the weekend, the road will reopen at 8 a.m.

A detour is marked. Work is expected to be completed near the end of July.


HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Joseph Howe Drive Overpass

Repairs are being made on the Joseph Howe overpass on Highway 102, Exit 0 until Saturday, Nov. 30.

Expect alternate travel lanes. Please reduce speed to 50 km/h and drive with extra caution in the area or use an alternate route.


HANTS COUNTY: Highway 102

Highway 102, about four kilometres north of Exit 10, at Shubenacadie Bridge, is reduced to one lane to build a temporary detour until June 2015. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


HANTS COUNTY: Route 215

The northbound lane of Route 215, north of Beaver Pond Road at Centre Burlington, is reduced to one lane to replace the culvert until Sunday, June 30.

Temporary lights are in place.


INVERNESS COUNTY: Crowdis Bridge

Crowdis Bridge is closed until further notice for repairs. A detour is available via Crowdis Cross Road, West Big Interval Road and Hatchery Road.


INVERNESS COUNTY: Highway 105

Highway 105, north of the Aberdeen Motel, for about half a kilometre, has a one-lane closure for repairs until Friday, July 12.

Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.


KINGS COUNTY: New Minas to North Alton

Trunk 1 in New Minas, to Prospect Road, ending at Trunk 12 in North Alton, is reduced to one lane for culvert repairs, ditching and repaving until Monday, Sept. 30.

Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Forties Road

Forties Road, from Trunk 12 west to Fraxville Road, and Forties Road, from Barss Corner Road west to Aylesford Road, will be reduced to one lane for road repairs until Saturday, Aug. 31.

Traffic Control people on site. Expect delays of 5 to 10 minutes. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Highway 103

Highway 103, from King Street overpass to Century Drive will have a one lane closure for micro surfacing until Monday, Sept. 30.

Work takes place from sunrise and sunset.


PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 104

Highway 104, westbound lanes from Exit 19 to Pictou-Colchester County line, about 11 kilometres, is reduced to one lane until Wednesday, July 31, for paving.

Motorists are reminded to use caution when travelling through the construction zone.


QUEENS COUNTY: Trunk 3

Trunk 3, from Highway 103, west to Eastern Shore Road, has alternating lane closures for repaving and upgrading until Saturday, Aug. 31.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


QUEENS COUNTY: Wagner Brook Bridge

Wagner Brook Bridge in Port Mouton, near Highway 103, is reduced to one lane for upgrading until Saturday, Aug. 31.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


VICTORIA COUNTY: Red Bridge, Big Baddeck

The Red Bridge on the Old Margaree Road in Big Baddeck is closed to traffic. A detour is in place. The bridge is scheduled to be replaced by summer 2013.


YARMOUTH COUNTY: Bridge Closed

The Raynardton Bridge on Raynardton Road west of Gavelton in Yarmouth County is closed to be replaced. Drivers should use alternate routes.

Work is scheduled to be completed by Sunday, Sept. 15.
