New Online Tool Simplifies Shooting Range Bookings

Natural Resources (to July 2018)

Nova Scotians who want to prepare for hunting season now have an easier way to book time at a provincial shooting range.

A new online provincial booking system allows people to check availability and book sessions at participating ranges across Nova Scotia by via the internet.

"Online range booking is part of our ongoing effort to make government services more accessible to Nova Scotians," said Natural Resources Minister Charlie Parker. "Ranges provide an important opportunity for hunters to practice safely and make sure their firearms are properly sighted."

Nova Scotians must book time at a range using a wildlife resources card. This allows enforcement officers to easily check who has booked the range.

There are 26 public-access shooting ranges throughout the province, administered by the Department of Natural Resources. Bookings can still be made in person or over the phone at department offices during business hours. The new online system is available at www.novascotia.ca/natr/srbs .
