New Work


CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Aboiteau Bridge

Aboiteau Bridge on Two Islands Road, 400 metres south of Main Street in Parrsboro, is reduced to one lane for bridge repairs until Friday, Oct. 18.

Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.


GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Route 316

Sections of Route 316, between Coddles Harbour Bridge and New Harbour West Road, will be reduced to one lane until Friday, Nov. 15 for repaving.

Drivers should reduce speed and obey signs and traffic control people in the area.


YARMOUTH COUNTY: Highway 101

Sections of Highway 101, from Exit 33 at Richmond Road to the Yarmouth/Digby County line, are reduced to one lane for repairs until Thursday, Oct. 31.

Motorists should be prepared to stop. Cyclists use caution because of a low shoulder.


CONTINUING WORK


CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Route 216

Sections of Route 216, from 15 kilometres west of Highway 4 to Eskasoni, are reduced to one lane for repaving until Thursday, Oct. 31. The lane closures are in effect 24 hours a day and are controlled by traffic signals or traffic control people.

Delays are expected. Drivers should use extra caution and patience in the area.


CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Route 216

Route 216, from 14 kilometres west of Highway 4 to Eskasoni, is reduced to one lane for paving until Thursday, Oct. 31.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week.


CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Sydney River Bridge

The Sydney River Bridge on Keltic Drive is closed for replacement.

While the bridge is closed, the province is providing a free shuttle bus service between Coxheath Arena (305 Keltic Dr.) and Walmart (65 Keltic Dr.).

A detour route for drivers has also been marked.

CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Trunk 28

Trunk 28, from Kilkenny Lake Road to Daley Road for about 5 kilometres, will be reduced to one lane for paving until Thursday, Oct. 31.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Fred Christie Bridge

Fred Christie Bridge on Valleydale Road, about 150 metres south of Old Greenfield Road, is closed for repairs until Monday, Sept. 30.

A marked detour is in place via Valleydale Road to Greenfield Road to Salmon River Road.


COLCHESTER/HANTS COUNTIES: Highway 102, Shubenacadie River

Construction is taking place on Highway 102 at the bridges over Shubenacadie River until Saturday, Nov. 30.

Traffic is two lanes in both directions, however drivers are urged to travel with extra caution in the area.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Innovation Drive Bridge

Innovation Drive Bridge on Innovation Drive, about 600 metres north of the intersection of Highway 4 (Pictou Road), is closed for repairs until Saturday, Oct. 5.

Detour signs are in place.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Masstown Road

Masstown Road, from the Highway 104 overpass to Debert Road, is reduced to one lane for paving until Monday, Sept. 30. Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.


DIGBY COUNTY: Acacia Valley Bridge

Acacia Valley Bridge on Acacia Valley Road, about a half-kilometre south of the intersection of Ridge Road and Acacia Valley Road, is closed for bridge repairs until Friday, Oct. 4.

A detour is in place.


GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Melford Brook Bridge

The Melford Brook Bridge, on Route 344 at Middle Melford, is closed. A two-lane detour bridge is in place until a permanent bridge is built. The speed limit is reduced to 60 km/h and warning signs are in place.


GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Route 344

Route 344 at Pirate Harbour has alternating one-lane closures for culvert replacement until Thursday, Oct. 31.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset, Monday to Saturday.


GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Silver Falls Bridge

Silver Falls Bridge on Route 348 is closed for repairs until Friday, Oct. 4.

Detour signs in place.


HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 107 Night Closures

Highway 107, between Exit 18 at Mineville Road and Exit 20 at William Porter Connector, is closed to all traffic from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. daily for repaving and widening.

On Sunday the road will stay closed until 8 a.m.

Drivers will be detoured onto Highway 7.

The project will be completed in late October.


KINGS COUNTY: Highway 101 Night Closures

Highway 101, between Exit 13 at Kentville and Exit 14 at Coldbrook, is closed to all traffic from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. daily for repaving and widening.

On Saturday and Sunday, the road will be closed until 8 a.m. Drivers will be detoured onto Highway 1.

The project will be completed at the end of October.


HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Joseph Howe Drive Overpass

Repairs are being made on the Joseph Howe Drive overpass on Highway 102, Exit 0 until Saturday, Nov. 30.

Travel lanes are shifted to accommodate rush hour traffic.

Drivers should reduce speed to 50 km/h and drive with extra caution in the area or use an alternate route.


KINGS COUNTY: Lamont Road Lamont Road in Lakeville, Kings County, north of Route 221, is closed for culvert replacement until Saturday, Sept. 28.

A marked detour route will be provided for drivers in the area.


HANTS COUNTY: Falmouth Back Road

Traffic on the Falmouth Back Road is reduced to one lane, from the intersection of Highway 1 east for about three kilometres, for repaving until Monday, Sept. 30.

Expect delays. Use extra caution or alternate routes, such as Town Road, Dyke Road and/or Highway 14.


HANTS COUNTY: Glen Brook and MacInnis Brook Bridges

The Glen Brook and MacInnis Brook bridges, on Route 202 in West Gore, have a 24-tonne weight restriction until further notice.


HANTS COUNTY: Shubenacadie, Bridge Trunk 2

Shubenacadie Bridge on Trunk 2 is reduced to one lane until Tuesday, Dec. 31. The speed limit is reduced to 50 km/h in the construction area.


INVERNESS COUNTY: Crowdis Bridge

Crowdis Bridge is closed until further notice for repairs. A detour is available via Crowdis Cross Road, West Big Interval Road and Hatchery Road.


INVERNESS COUNTY: West Lake Ainslie Road

The Hayes River Bridge on West Lake Ainslie Road has reopened with a 15-tonne weight restriction.


KINGS COUNTY: Highway 1

Highway 1 in New Minas to Prospect Road, ending at Highway 12 in North Alton, is reduced to one lane for culvert repairs, ditching and repaving until Monday, Sept. 30.

Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.


KINGS COUNTY: Highway 101, Cornwallis River Bridge

Cornwallis River Bridge, on Highway 101 near Coldbrook, will have one-lane closures for bridge repairs until Thursday, Oct. 31.

Traffic will be controlled by traffic signals 24 hours a day.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Crouse Settlement Road

Sections of Crouse Settlement Road in the Camperdown School Road area are reduced to one lane for repaving.

Traffic control people are on site. The work is scheduled to be completed by Monday, Sept. 30.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Blockhouse Area

Sections of Ernst Road and Cemetery Road, between Route 325 and School Road, are reduced to one lane for repaving. Traffic control people are on site. The work is scheduled to be completed by Monday, Sept. 30.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Farmington Road

Sections of Farmington Road, between each end of the Barss Corner Road loop, are reduced to one lane for repaving.

Traffic control people are on site. The work is scheduled to be completed by Monday, Sept. 30.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Italy Cross Road

Sections of Italy Cross Road, from Crousetown Road to Highway 103, are reduced to one lane for repaving.

Traffic control people are on site. The work is scheduled to be completed by Monday, Sept. 30.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Marriotts Cove East and West Roads

Marriotts Cove East Road and West Road, from Highway 3 to end, have alternating lane closures for road resurfacing until Tuesday, Oct. 15.

LUNNENBURG COUNTY: Meisner Bridge

Meisner Bridge on Highway 10, near Cherryfield, has alternating lane closures for repairs until Friday, Nov. 15.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Mount Pleasant Road

Mount Pleasant Road, from Route 331 to Huey Lake Road, has alternating lane closures until Monday, Sept. 30.

Traffic is stop and go. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Naugler Road

Naugler Road, from Route 325 to Pine Grove Road, has alternating lane closures for road resurfacing until Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Route 329

Route 329, from New Harbour Road east for about eight kilometres, has alternating lane closures until Thursday, Oct. 31.

Traffic control is stop-and-go traffic. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Route 332

Route 332 from Trunk 3, east of Lunenburg to Blue Rocks Road, has alternating lane closures until Thursday, Oct. 31. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Trunk 3

Trunk 3, from Hermans Island to Route 332, has alternating lane closures until Thursday, Oct. 31.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Upper Branch Road

Upper Branch Road is reduced to one lane for paving and patching. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is expected to continue until Monday, Sept. 30.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Wake Up Hill Road

Wake Up Hill Road, from Highway 3 to Highway 14, has alternating lane closures for road resurfacing until Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


PICTOU COUNTY: Barneys River Road

Barneys River Road, from Highway 104 north to Avondale Cross Road, for about six kilometres, is reduced to one lane for repaving. There is one-way traffic through about two kilometres of work zones and delays are expected.

Work takes places from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is expected to be completed by Thursday, Oct. 31.


PICTOU COUNTY: Millbrook, Alma, Marshdale, and Three Brooks Roads Millbrook, Alma, Marshdale, and Three Brooks Roads are reduced to one lane for re-paving until Monday, Sept. 30.

Traffic control people are on site but delays are expected. Work takes place Monday to Friday, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.


PICTOU COUNTY: Route 245

Sections of Route 245, for about five kilometres from east of Big Island Road to Lighthouse Lane, are reduced to one lane for re-paving until Thursday, Oct. 31. Delays are expected.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


PICTOU COUNTY: Stellarton

North Foord Street in Stellarton is closed from under the Highway 104 overpass to the westbound ramps from Highway 104.

A detour route is set up along Lawrence Boulevard, MacGregor Avenue, Westville Road, and Duff Street.

The detour is in place until the end of September. Please drive with extra caution in the area or use an alternate route.


PICTOU COUNTY: Waterside Bridge

Shore Road is closed at Waterside Bridge to replace the bridge.

Shore Road traffic is detoured onto R. Grant Road, Highway 6 (Sunrise Trail), Three Brooks Road, and Otter Road. Detour signs are posted.

Work is scheduled to be completed in late October.


QUEENS COUNTY: Wagner Brook Bridge

Wagner Brook Bridge in Port Mouton, near Highway 103, is closed for upgrading until Monday, Sept. 30. A detour is in place. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


RICHMOND COUNTY: Highway 4

Traffic on Highway 4, from west of Campbells Bridge, west for about five kilometres to Hay Cove Bridge, is reduced to one lane for repaving and the replacement of the Hay Cove bridge. Work is scheduled to be completed by Monday, Sept. 30.

Drivers should travel with caution and obey signs and workers in the area.


RICHMOND COUNTY: Cape Auguet Road

Traffic on Cape Auguet Road, from the intersection of Lower Road south for about five kilometres, is reduced to one lane for repaving and other improvements. The work is scheduled to be completed by Monday, Sept. 30.

Drivers should travel with caution and obey signs and workers in the area.


VICTORIA COUNTY: Highway 105

Highway 105, from Seal Island Bridge to the top of Kellys Mountain, will have alternating lane closures for repaving until Thursday, Oct. 31.
