Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (Oct. 2007 - Feb. 2021)

NEW WORK

DIGBY COUNTY: Acacia Valley Bridge

During ongoing repairs to the Acacia Valley Bridge on Acacia Valley Road, about a half-kilometre south of the intersection of Ridge Road and Acacia Valley Road, the province determined that complete replacement of the bridge is a more efficient option instead of repairs.

Because of the distance of the detour route and the fact that the bridge has been closed longer than expected, the province is committing to having the new bridge in place by Wednesday, Dec. 18.

The new bridge will have a steel deck and is expected to serve the community for the next 75 years.

In the meantime, patience of the public is appreciated when travelling in this area.
