Traffic Advisory, Caution Advised on Provincial Roads

Heavy rain followed by rapidly dropping temperatures is creating slippery conditions on provincial highways.

The province was salting roads but due to the drop in temperatures they were freezing again immediately after the salt was applied.

Transportation officials are now also sanding the roads to provide traction. It is taking longer than usual to cover all plow routes due to the difficult conditions.

Conditions are deteriorating from south to north across the province. Drivers should reduce speed and use extra caution.
