COLCHESTER/HANTS COUNTIES: Highway 102, Shubenacadie River

The southbound temporary detour bridge on Highway 102, over the Shubenacadie River, will be closed Monday, April 28, from sunrise to sunset. Traffic will be reduced to one lane, between exits 10 and 11, in both directions, and will be detoured over the northbound Shubenacdie River Bridge. Maximum widths in both directions will be four metres.

Drivers are urged to travel with extra caution in the area.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Sydney River Bridge

The Sydney River Bridge on Keltic Drive is closed for replacement. While the bridge is closed, the province is providing a free shuttle bus service between Coxheath Arena (305 Keltic Dr.) and Walmart (65 Keltic Dr.).

A detour route for drivers is marked.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Melford Brook Bridge

The Melford Brook Bridge, on Route 344 at Middle Melford, is closed. A two-lane detour bridge is in place until a permanent bridge is built. The speed limit is reduced to 60 km/h and warning signs are in place.


HANTS COUNTY: Glen Brook and MacInnis Brook Bridges

The Glen Brook and MacInnis Brook bridges, on Route 202 in West Gore, have a 24-tonne weight restriction until further notice.


INVERNESS COUNTY: Crowdis Bridge

Crowdis Bridge is closed until further notice for repairs. A detour is available via Crowdis Cross Road, West Big Interval Road and Hatchery Road.


INVERNESS COUNTY: West Lake Ainslie Road

The Hayes River Bridge on West Lake Ainslie Road has a 15-tonne weight restriction.


KINGS COUNTY: Whitman Bridge

Whitman Bridge, on Whitman Road between Maple Avenue and Ward Road in Aylesford, is closed for repairs until further notice. The detour route is Maple Avenue, Victoria Road, and Ward Road.


YARMOUTH COUNTY: Gavelton Bridge

Gavelton Bridge on Gavel Road is closed again for repairs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with an estimated finish date of Friday, May 16.

During the closed hours, the bridge will be restricted to emergency vehicles and school buses. All other traffic should use the detour route marked on Lake Vaughn Road and Raynardton Road.

The bridge is open to all traffic on weekends.
