NEW WORK


CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Salmon River Bridge

Salmon River Bridge on Intervale Road will be closed for repairs until 4 p.m., today, May 16


GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Route 344

Starting Monday, May 19, sections of Route 344, from the intersection of Carr Road south for 4.7 kilometres toward Port Shoreham, will be reduced to one lane for repaving.

Traffic will be controlled by flagpeople and a pilot vehicle. The work is scheduled to be finished Saturday, May 31.


HALIFAX COUNTY: Highway 3

Starting Tuesday, May 20, sections of Highway 3, from Exit 4 of Highway 103 west for 8.7 kilometres to the intersection of Route 333, will be reduced to one lane for repaving.

Traffic will be controlled by flagpeople and a pilot vehicle. The work is scheduled to be finished Monday, June 30.


HALIFAX COUNTY: Route 354 (Beaver Bank Road)

Sections of Route 354 (Beaver Bank Road), from the Hants County line south for 7.4 kilometres, are reduced to one lane for repaving.

Traffic will be controlled by flagpeople and a pilot vehicle. The work is scheduled to be finished Tuesday, Sept. 30.


PICTOU COUNTY: Trunk 7 (Sunrise Trail) and Cape John Road

From Monday, May 19, until Sunday, Aug. 31, sections of Highway 6, (Sunrise Trail) from the Pictou/Colchester County line to the intersection of Louisville Road, and sections of Cape John Road, from Highway 6 to the end of the pavement, will be reduced to one lane for repairs.

Work takes place from dawn to dusk. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the construction zone.


CONTINUING WORK


CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Sydney River Bridge

The Sydney River Bridge on Keltic Drive is closed for replacement. While the bridge is closed, there is a free shuttle bus service between Coxheath Arena (305 Keltic Dr.) and Walmart (65 Keltic Dr.).

A detour route for drivers is marked.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Plains Road

Sections of Plains Road, from the intersection of Masstown Road west to Highway 4, will be reduced to one lane for repairs to the road and the bridge over the Debert River.

Temporary traffic signals will direct traffic over the bridge.

Motorists are asked to use caution through the construction zone. The project is scheduled to be finished Friday, Aug. 8.


GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Melford Brook Bridge

The Melford Brook Bridge, on Route 344 at Middle Melford, is closed. A two-lane detour bridge is in place until a permanent bridge is built. The speed limit is reduced to 60 km/h and warning signs are in place.


HANTS COUNTY: Chambers Bridge

Chambers Bridge on Highway 14, over the St. Croix River, west of Brooklyn, is reduced to one lane during repairs until Monday, May 26.

Drivers should travel with extra patience and caution in the area.


HANTS COUNTY: Glen Brook and MacInnis Brook Bridges

The Glen Brook and MacInnis Brook bridges, on Route 202 in West Gore, have a 24-tonne weight restriction until further notice.


INVERNESS COUNTY: Crowdis Bridge

Crowdis Bridge is closed until further notice for repairs. A detour is available via Crowdis Cross Road, West Big Interval Road and Hatchery Road.


INVERNESS COUNTY: West Lake Ainslie Road

The Hayes River Bridge on West Lake Ainslie Road has a 15-tonne weight restriction.


KINGS COUNTY: Whitman Bridge

Whitman Bridge, on Whitman Road between Maple Avenue and Ward Road in Aylesford, is closed for repairs until further notice. The detour route is Maple Avenue, Victoria Road and Ward Road.


PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 104

The eastbound lanes of Highway 104, from Exit 21 at Westville to Exit 25 at Stellarton, are reduced to one lane for bridge repairs and repaving until Sunday, Aug. 31.

Speed limit in the work zone is 80 km/h.
