Atlantic Premiers Focused on Improving Competitiveness

Council of Atlantic Premiers

The Atlantic premiers are working together to improve the competitiveness of the regions's economy through actions to strengthen the workforce, harmonize and streamline regulations, ensure open transmission and transportation of energy, and provide more efficient and cost-effective services to Atlantic Canadians.

The premiers see the private sector as a key driver of job creation and economic growth. The Atlantic Red Tape reduction Partnership, announced by the premiers, will identify business regulations and administrative processes that can be harmonized and streamlined to create a more competitive economic environment across Atlantic Canada.

The annual Council of Atlantic Premiers meeting took place today, Jan. 19, in St.John's, N.L. A detailed news release can be found on the Council of the Atlantic Premiers website at www.cap-cpma.ca/ .
