Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (Oct. 2007 - Feb. 2021)

NEW WORK


CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Trunk 125, Exit 6

At midnight on Wednesday, Sept. 9, all traffic on Highway 125 will be stopped near Exit 6 to replace an overhead sign. It will take about 40 minutes.

Traffic control people will be on site, but drivers should avoid the area between midnight and 1 a.m.


CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Trunk 125, Exit 7

At midnight Thursday, Sept. 10, traffic on Highway 125 will be stopped between Exit 7 and Exit 7A to install an overhead sign. It will take 20 minutes.

Traffic control people will be on site, but drivers should avoid the area between midnight and 12:30 a.m.


DIGBY COUNTY: Aymar Bridge - South Old Post Road

Aymar Bridge on South Old Post Road, about 100 metres south of the intersection of Landsdowne Road, will be closed to all traffic from Tuesday, Sept. 8, until Friday, Sept. 18, for bridge repairs.

Detour route on Back Road, Highway 101, and Acacia Valley Road.


CONTINUING WORK


ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Old Highway 104

West River Bridge, West River, on old Highway 104, is reduced to one lane for recoating until Friday, Sept. 11.

Traffic signals are in place, but delays are possible. Traffic entering Antigonish from the Trans-Canada Highway should use Exit 32.


CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Trunk 4

Trunk 4, near Big Pond, from west of the intersection of Glen Albert Drive west for 2.8 kilometres, is reduced to one lane for repaving and upgrading.

Traffic control people are on site but delays are possible.

Work takes place from 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and is scheduled to be complete by the end of October.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 102

Sections of the southbound lanes of Highway 102, from Exit 11 at Stewiacke to the Colchester County line, are reduced to one lane to install rumble strips until Wednesday, Sept. 30.

Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 102, Hilden

Work on a culvert on Highway 102 in the Hilden area requires occasional lane reductions on traffic in both directions until Wednesday, Sept. 30.

Drivers should watch for traffic control and be prepared to slow down. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


COLCHESTER/CUMBERLAND: Highway 104

Traffic on sections of the eastbound lanes of Highway 104, from west of Exit 8 at Westchester to the Mines Bass River Road underpass, are reduced to one lane for guardrail repairs and repaving until Wednesday, Sept. 30.

Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.


COLCHESTER COUNTY: Trunk 4, near Londonderry

Sections of Trunk 4, near Londonderry, between Baseline Road and Highway 104, are reduced to one lane for guardrail repair and paving until Wednesday, Sept. 30.

Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.


CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Eddy Road

Eddy Road to Fort Lawrence, near Amherst, is closed until further notice because of a collapsed culvert.


DIGBY COUNTY: Bonnie Road

The Bonnie Road Overpass over Highway 101 near Meteghan, is closed to all traffic until further notice. A detour route is marked.


DIGBY COUNTY: Melanson Mills Bridge

Melanson Mills Bridge on Marc Comeau Road is closed until further notice to replace the deck.

A detour route is in place.


HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 102

The northbound lanes of Highway 102, between the junction of Highway 118 at Miller Lake and Exit 6 (Halifax Stanfield International Airport), have lane closures for seal coating.

Closure times are:
Monday to Thursday, sunrise - 3 p.m. Friday, sunrise - noon Saturday and Sunday, sunrise - 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to sunset

Work is expected to be completed by Tuesday, Sept. 15.


HANTS/COLCHESTER COUNTIES: Meadow Road

Meadow Road, from Cooks Brook Road to Route 224, is reduced to one lane for patching and paving. Drivers must reduce speed and be prepared to stop in the construction zone.

The work is from sunrise to sunset and is expected to be finished by Wednesday, Sept. 30.


HANTS/COLCHESTER COUNTIES: Whittenburg Road

Sections of Whittenburg Road in Lower Stewiacke, from Route 224 north for about four kilometres to the Colchester County line, are reduced to one lane for patching and paving. Drivers must reduce speed and be prepared to stop in the construction zone.

The work is from sunrise to sunset and is expected to be finished by Wednesday, Sept. 30.


INVERNESS COUNTY: Crowdis Bridge

Crowdis Bridge is closed until further notice for repairs. A detour is available via Crowdis Cross, West Big Intervale and Hatchery roads.


INVERNESS COUNTY: West Lake Ainslie Road

The Hayes River Bridge on West Lake Ainslie Road has a 15-tonne weight restriction.


KINGS COUNTY: Whitman Bridge

Whitman Bridge, on Whitman Road between Maple Avenue and Ward Road in Aylesford, is closed for repairs until further notice.

The detour route is Maple Avenue to Victoria Road to Ward Road.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Auburndale Road

Auburndale Road, from Route 325 to Upper Branch Road, has alternating lane closures for repaving until Saturday, Oct. 31.

Expect stop-and-go traffic. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Conquerall Mills Road

Conquerall Mills Road, from the intersection of Trunk 3 for about four kilometres toward Conquerall Road, has alternating lane closures for repaving until Saturday, Oct. 31.

Expect stop-and-go traffic. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Golf Course Road, Chester

Golf Course Road in Chester, from the intersection of Pig Loop Road south for half a kilometre, has alternating lane closures for repaving until Saturday, Oct. 31.

Expect stop-and-go traffic. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Highway 103

Highway 103, Exit 10, has alternating lane closures for bridge rehabilitation including both concrete and asphalt repairs and installation of new bridge rails until Saturday, Oct. 31.

Temporary Traffic Lights in place.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Crouse Bridge The Crouse Bridge on Bruhm Road is closed for replacement until Sat., Oct. 31.

A marked detour route is in place.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Green Bay Road

Green Bay Road, from the intersection of Route 331 for 1.8 kilometres to the end of the existing pavement, has alternating lane closures for repaving until Saturday, Oct. 31.

Expect stop-and-go traffic. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Italy Cross Road

Italy Cross Road, from the intersection of Route 331 for 1.8 kilometres toward Petite Riviere, has alternating lane closures until Saturday, Oct. 31.

Expect stop-and-go traffic. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


LUNENBURG COUNTY: Varner Road

Varner Road, from the intersection of Trunk 10 for about half a kilometre to the end of the existing pavement, has alternating lane closures for repaving until Saturday, Oct. 31.

Expect stop-and-go traffic. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


PICTOU COUNTY: River John Road

Sections of River John Road, from Meadowville Station Road to Scotch Hill Road, are reduced to one lane for patching and paving until Friday, Sept. 11.

Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.


PICTOU COUNTY: Scotch Hill Road

Sections of Scotch Hill Road, from Route 376 north to River John Road, are reduced to one lane for patching and paving until Friday, Sept. 11.

Traffic control people are on site. Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.


PICTOU/COLCHESTER COUNTIES: Route 289

Sections of Route 289, from Pictou/Colchester county line west for almost six kilometres, are reduced to one lane for patching and paving. Drivers must reduce speed and be prepared to stop in the construction zone. The work is from sunrise to sunset and is expected to be finished by Wednesday, Sept. 30. A flag person is on site.


QUEENS COUNTY: Highway 103

Sections of Highway 103, from Exit 20 in Summerville west to Port Joli, are reduced to one lane until Saturday, Oct. 31.

Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.


QUEENS COUNTY: Labelle Road

Labelle Road, from the intersection of Route 210 for 4.4 kilometres to the end of the existing pavement, has alternating lane closures for repaving until Saturday, Oct. 31.

Expect stop-and-go traffic. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.


RICHMOND COUNTY: Grandique Ferry Road

Grandique Ferry Road, from Route 320 for 3.6 kilometres to the end of pavement, is reduced to one lane for paving and patching until Saturday, Oct. 31.

Traffic control people and a pilot vehicle are on site. The work takes place from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.


RICHMOND COUNTY: Trunk 4

Trunk 4, from west of Soldiers Cove Road westerly for 5.5 kilometres, has alternating lane closures for paving until Monday, Nov. 30.

Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.


VICTORIA COUNTY: Gillis Bridge

Gillis Bridge, on North Branch Road, just past Uisge Bàn (USH-KA BAN) Falls Provincial Park, is closed until further notice. Access to the park is not affected.


YARMOUTH COUNTY: Gavel Bridge

Gavel Bridge on Gavel Road over Gavels Lake is closed for replacement until Sunday, Nov. 15.

Use an alternate route.


YARMOUTH COUNTY: Highway 103

Eel Lake Bridge on Highway 103 in Belleville, has one lane closed for repairs until Friday, Oct. 2.

Traffic signals are in place. Expect traffic delays of 5-10 minutes
