Time Falls Back Nov. 1

Justice

Nova Scotians will get an extra hour of sleep Sunday, Nov.1, when daylight savings time ends.

People are reminded to set their clocks back one hour at 2 a.m., or Saturday evening before they go to bed.

Other items also need adjusting. Microwave ovens, car clocks, watches, automatic timer lights, and other household devices need to be turned back.

It is also a good opportunity to clean dryer vents to prevent fires, and change batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Smoke detectors should be tested monthly and replaced every 10 years.
