Hunting Season, Sunday Hunting Reminder

General deer hunting season begins today, Friday, Oct. 30, and continues to Dec. 5.

The Department of Natural Resources requires hunters to wear hunter-orange clothing in the woods and advises non-hunters to do the same.

The department has lifted the ban on Sunday hunting for the first two Sundays of general deer hunting season on Nov. 1 and Nov. 8. The change applies to hunting all wildlife in season on those dates except moose.

Hunting regulation booklets are available at all hunting-licence vendor locations and Department of Natural Resources offices. The regulations and safety advice are also available at www.novascotia.ca/natr/hunt .
