Pictou County Justice Centre to Reopen on Monday

The Pictou County Justice Centre in Pictou will reopen on Monday, Jan. 30, after being closed today, Jan. 25.

Smoke from a fire in a nearby Water Street building created an odour in the justice centre.

Occupational health and safety representatives recommended closing the building to thoroughly clean it and rid the building of any odour.

Preliminary testing shows that air quality in the building is healthy, and will be conducted again on the weekend to confirm that.

Court matters scheduled for Thursday and Friday are being relocated or rescheduled.

The court is working directly with lawyers and people who are representing themselves.
