Call for Human Rights Art Submissions from Nova Scotia Youth

The Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission has launched an art competition for Nova Scotia youth in celebration of its 50th anniversary in 2017.

Youth aged 12-24 are invited to submit works of art about human rights to be displayed in Halifax Transit buses, and exhibited in locations across the province, including the Halifax Stanfield International Airport.

"The human rights art competition provides an opportunity for youth to build their understanding of human rights issues and will help foster appreciation for diversity and inclusion in Nova Scotia," said Christine Hanson, director and CEO of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission. "We call on educators, youth leaders and parents to work with youth to help them make submissions."

The deadline for submissions is April 18. Guidelines and criteria for the art competition are available on the commission's website at humanrights.novascotia.ca.
