Premier Announces Staffing Change

Premier's Office

Premier Stephen McNeil congratulated his outgoing chief of staff, Ryan Grant, today, Oct. 3, on his outstanding service to the province.

Mr. Grant has served Nova Scotians as the premier’s chief of staff since January 2017. He has held various other positions, including deputy chief of staff and senior policy advisor, since Mr. McNeil became premier in October 2013.

“Ryan has been with me on this journey through two majority governments and has been an essential part of my team through the intensity of governing for more than five years,” said Premier McNeil. “It has been my pleasure to work with Ryan and I admire his commitment to public service. I wish him only the best as he explores new opportunities.”

“I will always cherish the time that I’ve spent working alongside the premier and this government,” said Mr. Grant. “I’m very proud of what he and his team have been able to accomplish in building a stronger Nova Scotia. I will be forever grateful for the opportunity given to me to serve the people of this province.”

The change is effective Oct. 26. The chief of staff position will be filled in the coming weeks.
