Film Productions Announced

Nova Scotia Business Inc. (Dec. 2004 - Nov. 2022)

Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI) has announced newly approved productions through the Nova Scotia Film and Television Production Incentive Fund today, March 5.

Documentary, Atautsikut/Leaving None Behind, produced by Atautsikut Production Ltd., has been approved for a funding commitment of $144,934 based on an eligible Nova Scotia expenditure of $499,771.

Television series, Lobster Catch, produced by Tell Tale Entertainment Inc., has been approved for a funding commitment of $127,592 based on an eligible Nova Scotia expenditure of $432,515.

Television Series, Spirit Talker, produced by Spirit Talker Films Inc., has been approved for a funding commitment of $327,222 based on an eligible Nova Scotia expenditure of $1,090,740.

Television special Aboriginal Day Live 2017, produced by Aboriginal Day Live 2017 NS Inc., has been approved for a funding commitment of $74,285 based on eligible Nova Scotia expenditure of $297,140.

Quick facts:

  • the fund applies to eligible costs such as labour, goods or services purchased from a Nova Scotia-based supplier
  • when an application is approved, NSBI issues a commitment letter which can be used for bank financing. When the applicant enters the official incentive agreement, the agreement can also be used for the financing process
  • when the production is approved for a funding commitment, the funds are placed in reserve
  • when the production is complete the applicant submits a final claim to NSBI for processing and disbursement
