New Contest Invites Nova Scotians to Share Must-see and Must-do Experiences

Tourism Nova Scotia (Oct. 2015 - Dec. 2021)

A new contest launched by Tourism Nova Scotia this week invites people to share their favourite photos of lesser-known places to see and things to do in the province, in an effort to inspire more people to visit and travel here.

The contest asks Nova Scotians to share photos of their favourite locations, restaurants or activities, on Instagram using the hashtag #NovaScotiaUNLISTED. Contest participants will be eligible to win one of three Google Pixel 3 phones through a random draw. One grand prize winner will be selected by Tourism Nova Scotia to have their photo featured on the cover of next year’s Doers and Dreamers Travel Guide. The winner will receive a $2,000 honorarium and photo credits in the guide.

Select entries will be displayed on a photo gallery on Nova Scotia’s trip planning website, NovaScotia.com. The gallery will then be promoted through digital advertising in Tourism Nova Scotia’s key markets of Ontario and the northeastern United States to showcase the variety of things to do here and inspire travellers to book a vacation here. The ads will call on potential visitors to vote for their favorite photos/experiences. Travellers who cast their votes will have a chance to win a trip for two to Nova Scotia.

“Nova Scotians both here and away take immense pride in where they are from. This is the perfect opportunity to share that pride and help bring more people to the province,” said Michele Saran, CEO, Tourism Nova Scotia. “We encourage everyone to be a Nova Scotia tourism ambassador and submit your favourite photos until May 26.”
