Deputy Minister Change

Lynn Hartwell, deputy minister of the Department of Community Services, has announced she is leaving government to pursue another opportunity.

In July, Ms. Hartwell will join the senior leadership team at the Nova Scotia Community College as vice-president, Campuses and Communities.

“Lynn has provided tremendous advice and inspiring leadership to government on issues faced by vulnerable Nova Scotians and opportunities for improving supports so they can move forward with their lives,” said Premier Stephen McNeil. “On behalf of all Nova Scotians, I want to thank her for many dedicated years of public service and I wish her the very best in her new role.”

A new deputy minister will be announced in the coming weeks, prior to Ms. Hartwell’s departure.
