Executive Council Office

Nova Scotians can have their voices heard, make a difference in their communities and learn new skills by becoming a volunteer.

Applications are being accepted for agencies, boards and commissions, groups that provide advice and services in a variety of areas, including health care, education, environment, culture and professional regulation.

“We are looking for Nova Scotians who want to make a difference in areas they are passionate about and who make improvements in their communities,” said Leo Glavine, Minister of the Voluntary Sector. “Having a variety of perspectives and ideas will ultimately mean our organizations will be more effective and representative of the communities they serve.”

The application deadline for some opportunities is Nov. 18. Applications for many other positions are accepted year-round.

In order to increase the diversity of the agencies, boards and commissions, applications are encouraged from youth, women, Mi’kmaq and other Indigenous people, African Nova Scotians and other racially visible people, persons with disabilities, Acadian Nova Scotians, immigrants and newcomers and persons from the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
