Televised Committees Meetings to Provide Greater Transparency
Starting today, Jan. 28, all standing committee meetings will be televised, making it easier for Nova Scotians to stay informed about the work the legislature is doing.
The House of Assembly is televising all standing committees, including law amendments.
"Televising our committee meetings is a part of government’s ongoing commitment to transparency and accessibility,” said Speaker of the House Kevin Murphy. “This will allow Nova Scotians to be better informed of the important work of the legislature as it affects us all.”
The standing committees will be available to watch at: https://nslegislature.ca/legislative-business/legislative-tv
- standing committees were established under the Rules and Forms of Procedure of the House of Assembly
- they study matters within specific areas of responsibility as outlined in the rules, or matters referred to them by the House of Assembly
