Shubenacadie Sam predicts six more weeks of winter.

Nova Scotia’s furry forecaster appeared at 8 a.m. today, Feb. 2, Groundhog Day, at Shubenacadie Wildlife Park. He came out of his burrow and saw his shadow.

Nova Scotia’s time zone gives Sam the honour of being the first groundhog to make a spring prediction in North America each year.
