Film Productions Announced

Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI) announced four newly approved productions through the Nova Scotia Film and Television Production Incentive Fund today, Feb 26.

Comedy TV series, Hard Time, produced by Hard Time 1 Productions Inc., has been approved for a funding commitment of $735,077 based on eligible Nova Scotia expenditure of $2,534,748.

Documentary, The Social Stories, produced by Social Matrix Productions Inc. (Clerisy Entertainment), has been approved for a funding commitment of $560,747 based on eligible Nova Scotia expenditure of $1,869,155.

Dramatic feature film, Queens of the Qing Dynasty, produced by Starlet Film Inc., has been approved for a funding commitment of $211,169 based on eligible Nova Scotia expenditure of $681,191. Dramatic TV series, The Last Divide, produced by Winter Light Productions Limited, has been approved for a funding commitment of $448,000 based on eligible Nova Scotia expenditure of $1,400,000.

Quick Facts:

  • the fund applies to eligible costs such as labour, goods or services purchased from a Nova Scotia-based supplier
  • when an application is approved, NSBI issues an incentive agreement which can be used for the financing process
  • when the production is approved for a funding commitment, the funds are placed in reserve
  • when the production is complete the applicant submits a final claim to NSBI for processing and disbursement
  • all applications and claims are processed and approved by NSBI
