New Eastern Shore School Moving Forward

Education and Early Childhood Development

Students on Nova Scotia’s Eastern Shore are one step closer to attending the new Eastern Shore Consolidated School.

Derek Mombourquette, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, announced the province will issue a request for proposals today, June 25, for the collaborative design-build of the new school.

“The Eastern Shore community is excited for this new school and so am I. The students of this area have waited a long time and they’re looking forward to seeing this school become a reality,” said Mr. Mombourquette. “New schools present new learning opportunities for students and staff. I know the Eastern Shore Consolidated School will make a positive impact on this area, with a new skilled trades centre, modern technology and a site that affords future growth opportunities.”

The new school, which will have grades 7 to 12, is expected to open to students for the 2023-24 school year.
