Mandate Letters Outline Government’s Priorities

Premier's Office

Mandate letters to cabinet ministers outlining government’s priorities for delivering solutions to Nova Scotians were posted online today, Sept. 16.

The letters provide direction from Premier Tim Houston to ministers on what they need to accomplish in their new roles.

“I’m looking forward to working with our ministers to do the job Nova Scotians elected us to do,” said Premier Houston. “Fixing health care and rebuilding our economy will require strong leadership, a willingness to take bold action and serious investment. But we will work hard – every single day – to keep our word and earn the support of Nova Scotians.”

The letters detail actions the provincial government will take to improve access to health care, position the economy for growth, promote equity and inclusion and continue to keep Nova Scotians safe. The letters also show how government plans to work with all Nova Scotians to build healthy, diverse and prosperous communities.

“We have committed to listen to and respect all Nova Scotians,” said Premier Houston. “That starts with a belief in each other, our communities and in our fellow Nova Scotians. We will lead a government that represents all Nova Scotians and is inclusive and respectful as we advance our agenda."
