Students Receive Scholarships for Energy Studies

Natural Resources and Renewables

Sixteen Nova Scotia students have been awarded the Nova Scotia Energy and Mines Scholarship to pursue energy-related studies at post-secondary institutions.

“Developing energy resources plays an important role in creating jobs and economic opportunities in rural areas of the province, not to mention creating solutions that will benefit our cleaner energy future,” said Natural Resources and Renewables Minister Tory Rushton. “Our youth want to be part of the solution and by supporting students today we’re ensuring we have leaders tomorrow that will guide us toward our energy goals.”

Eight of the students enrolled in university programs will receive a renewable scholarship of $10,000 over four years. The remaining eight students will receive a one-time scholarship of $2,500 for trades and technology programs at Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC).
