Water, Wastewater Upgrades for West Hants
The Province is investing in infrastructure upgrades that will help West Hants Regional Municipality prepare for future growth and protect against storm surge.
“This is a significant investment in the safety of our community to ensure we have the improved infrastructure in place to protect our roads and properties during extreme weather events and storm surges,” said Melissa Sheehy-Richard, MLA for Hants West, on behalf of Municipal Affairs and Housing Minister John Lohr. “This investment will also ensure we have upgraded systems to treat stormwater and enhance our access to potable water. These are significant upgrades to our critical infrastructure that will serve our community now and into the future.”
The work includes replacing underground sanitary and storm sewers, as well as upgrading potable water services and roadway surface structures on College Road and Nesbitt Street in Windsor. These improvements will increase access to drinking water and the capacity to treat and manage wastewater and stormwater.
The Province is investing $1,373,000 in the project, the Government of Canada is investing $1,647,600, and West Hants Regional Municipality is contributing $1,098,400.
