Nova Scotia 55+ Games Receives Age-Friendly Community Grant

NOTE TO EDITORS: Minister of Seniors Leo Glavine will participate as an athlete on the South Shore men’s hockey team and will help officially open the Nova Scotia 55+ Games at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1 at Oland Stadium, St. F.X. University, Antigonish. The ceremonies will be held in the MacKay Room in Bloomfield Centre on the campus if it rains.

Les organismes néo-écossais qui aident les personnes âgées à avoir une vie active et à rester engagées dans leurs collectivités peuvent maintenant présenter une demande d’aide financière dans le cadre du Programme de subventions des communautés amies des aînés pour l’exercice de 2019-2020. Le programme fournit des fonds jusqu’à concurrence de 25 000 $ aux organismes qui travaillent à rendre leurs collectivités amies des aînés, des collectivités où les politiques, les services et les structures aident les personnes âgées à vivre en sécurité, à être en santé, à rester actives et à participer à la vie communautaire. La première date limite pour la réception des demandes est le 4 octobre.
