Strathlorne Nursery to Hire Students

The Department of Natural Resources will be hiring 21 students for the 2004 seedling growing season at the Strathlorne Forest Nursery in Inverness County. The student positions are in addition to the permanent and seasonal staff at the nursery.

Contracts have been awarded for the clean up of provincial parks that were damaged as a result of Hurricane Juan. Ban on Open Fires

Natural Resources Minister Richard Hurlburt has announced there will be a ban on open fires in the counties of Colchester, Cumberland, Hants, Pictou and the Halifax Regional Municipality effective at 5 p.m. today, Oct. 1. The ban will remain in effect up to and including Wednesday, Oct. 15.
