Large natural area at Holden Lake; includes part of Gold River

Ecological Values

Well drained productive forest, with no recent disturbance

Patches of old white pine, eastern hemlock and red oak

Improves representation of the LaHave Drumlins and South Mountain Rolling Plain natural landscapes

Outdoor Recreation Values

Traditional backcountry recreation destination for residents of Lunenburg County

Forestry Values

Mix of mature softwood, hardwood, and mixedwood

Small portion of area currently unavailable for forestry due to DNR old forest policy

Medium mineral potential

Low petroleum potential

Low wind potential
